Hello, we are Steven and Kristina, from Averill Park, NY. We want to thank you for taking the time to learn more about us by visiting our adoption profile.
We want to first and foremost express our admiration for you as you consider adoption as one of your options. We respect the decision that you will be making, regardless of what that is.
As you read through our profile, we hope that you will learn about our supportive and loving family and friends, our hobbies, our pets, and will get a glimpse into what our day-to-day life is. We are truly humbled for everything we have and hope to share our home and lives with a child.
We are excited to be on this journey to grow our family through adoption.
We met when we were in high school and dated for a short time then. Our relationship was casual and ended after a few months, however we remained friends. Our relationship picked back up when we were in college. We would talk on the phone every night. We would drive to each other’s campus to see one another. We have been inseparable ever since. We had our dream wedding on September 27th, 2014.
We have a dog and a cat. Raven is a Beagle/Smooth Fox Terrier Mix (30 lbs) and Belle is a Maine Coon. Both of our animals love children, they get so excited when any of our nieces and nephews come over. They love to sit and snuggle with the kids as well as play in the back yard.
Our relationship is built on the foundation that we will always do anything for the other person and for our family. We discuss everything and believe in open communication. We work together as partners in every sense of the word, ranging from roles and responsibilities in the home to confiding in each other during stressful times.
Through the years, we kept our faith that we would one day have a family and began to open our hearts and our minds in how that would look. We decided to first focus on us and being the best versions of ourselves that we could be, so that when we became parents we would be the best parents we could. After losing a combined weight of about 260 lbs, we now are able to live the active healthy lives that we have always wanted.
Our main focus has always been to build a life and a home to provide the best opportunities for the child we adopt some day. We are now ready, eager, and very excited to build our forever family through adoption!

“The first thing that attracted me to Kristina is her personality. She is outgoing, confident, and a go-getter. When she is faced with an obstacle in life, she takes a step back and figures out a plan of how she will overcome it. She leads a successful career as a Data Exchange Manager and is able to work 100% from home, which allows her the opportunity to be home with our fur babies. While her career and drive to be successful has always been important to her, the driving force behind her success has always been her family and being able to provide a better life for us.
One of the things that Kristina has always had a passion for is softball. She played softball competitively for 16 years and even played on the ESPN Fields in Disney. She played in college for a short time before she retired due to an injury. Today she enjoys spending time at the softball and baseball fields watching her nieces and nephews play, as well as assisting her older sister with coaching.
Kristina is a natural nurturer. She always wants to make sure that everyone else is taken care of. She treats her nieces and nephews as her own. Through our journey to starting a family I have been able to witness first hand just how strong, loving, caring, and resilient she is. She is patient and motherhood is something that just comes naturally to her.”

“The first thing that attracted me to Steve is that he is the most caring, kind, and sweetest person I have ever met. Steve loves the outdoors and doing work around the house. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with family. Steve enjoys spending time with our nieces and nephews. Whether he is attending their sporting events, bringing them fishing, having a coloring contest with them, or playing cards, he loves spending time with them and passing along his knowledge and experience.
Steve has worked very hard advancing his career with the State of New York. He has a true passion for building a career where he is able to support his family both financially as well as being able to be present in our lives. In addition to his career with the State, he also works as a Real Estate Agent. This has been a passion of his and is a job that allows for additional income as well as the flexibility to making his own schedule.
Steve is a very laid back person and is able to stay grounded during difficult times and when faced with adversity. He has a way of making everyone laugh and goes out of his way to help others. He is patient and understanding — no matter what the situation is. During our journey as a couple, he has been my shoulder to cry on, my support, and has stood by my side through all of the ups and downs. Steve is my rock.”
We live in a quiet neighborhood with great neighbors. Our home is located close to local restaurants, schools, and parks. Our house is placed back off the road on a 3 acre lot with a fenced-in back yard and a trail that leads to a small stream. We enjoy walking our dog in this area and also like to take nightly walks in our neighborhood and to the park across the street.
We have many family members who live and work close by. Our family and friends say that our home is so comfortable and they all feel very at home during barbecues, holidays, or just a night chatting on the back porch. Every year we host Thanksgiving dinner at our home. We truly enjoy sharing our home with our family and friends.
The place we call home is a 4 bedroom, 2 ½ bath colonial located in Averill Park, NY. When Kristina was a child, she drew a picture of a big white house and told her family that she would one day buy the house in the picture — where everyone could always feel welcome and where everyone could get together. Steve had also always dreamed of owning a colonial style house. So when the time came to find our forever home, we couldn’t help but to jump on the opportunity.
We are humbled that all of our hard work growing up has led us to this point in our lives.
Family has always been extremely important to both of us.
Kristina comes from a large blended family. They get together often, whether it’s at the baseball and softball fields or at her parents’ house for Sunday dinner. While some of her family live out of state, they make it a point to get together whenever they are in town. Her entire family, including her Grandmother, would be ecstatic to welcome another great-grandchild to the family.
Steve comes from a large Italian family. At any chance they can get, they get together at his grandmother’s house for Gram’s signature Sunday sauce! Steve is the oldest of three children and is a twin, he is the oldest by 1 minute and takes great pride and responsibility in being the oldest. His family cannot wait to welcome another baby to the family and watch to see what a wonderful father he will be.
Together we have a beautiful support group of friends who have become family to us. Our best friends have been in our lives since we were both children and are more like brothers and sisters than friends. Their families have become our families. We are sure to get together with them regularly to hang by the pool, ring in the New Year lounging by the TV, and celebrate the holidays. We love to spend time with our friends and their children any chance we get.
One of our favorite things to do is to explore and travel in our 30 ft. camper — our home away from home! We love to be able to explore nature while having a warm cozy place to sleep. It is also very important to us to be able to have plenty of room for family when they come camping with us. There’s even room to bring our dog Raven on our adventures!
One of our favorite places to visit is Ticonderoga, NY. The beauty of the Adirondacks makes for a great place to hike, fish, visit state parks, and see many of the beautiful historical sites in Ticonderoga.
We also make a yearly trip with Kristina’s parents to Lake George, NY, where we explore the Adirondack Nationals Car Show and beyond — we will camp out for the weekend, attend the car show, go shopping at the outlets, and go garage sailing.
We truly enjoy spending time as a family unwinding and enjoying everything the outdoors has to offer.

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read through our adoption profile and for getting to know us. We would like for you to know that we support you in whichever decision you make.
