Meet Nicola

“Nicola inspires me to be the best person I can be. She is lovely, poised, and accomplished. She spent her childhood between the United States and Portugal, and went all the way through school in England. She holds a doctorate, speaks several languages (including Portuguese, French, and Spanish), is well traveled, has an amazing education … and couldn’t be a kinder, more welcoming, generous, and thoughtful person. Meanwhile, she has such a silly streak — listening to her reading stories in various voices and accents can entertain children (and adults) endlessly!

Nicola has wide ranging interests, is an amazing cook, and a gifted teacher. She has a great sense of style and organization, skills she uses to provide a happy, comfortable home life for our family. She has a bottomless supply of love — for me, our son, friends, family, and our little dogs.

Nicola is thoughtful and empathetic, always trying to understand other people’s points of view. She connects naturally and easily with people of all ages and backgrounds and is always carefully tuned into her audience. For more than half our lives she has been my best friend, my partner, and my inspiration.

Nicola is always there with support, kind words, or just a hug — she always seems to know what is required. I couldn’t imagine a better partner for me or mother for Sebastian.”
